SONG: Tell Your Heart To Beat Again (Lyrics) By: Danny Gokey
You’re shattered
Like you’ve never been before
The life you knew
In a thousand pieces on the floor
And words fall short in times like these
When this world drives you to your knees
You think you’re never gonna get back
To the you that used to be
Tell your heart to beat again
Close your eyes and breathe it in
Let the shadows fall away
Step into the light of grace
Yesterday’s a closing door
You don’t live there anymore
Say goodbye to where you’ve been
And tell your heart to beat again
Beginning
Just let that word wash over you
It’s alright now
Love’s healing hands have pulled you through
So get back up, take step one
Leave the darkness, feel the sun
‘Cause your story’s far from over
And your journey’s just begun
Let every heartbreak
And every scar
Be a picture that reminds you
Who has carried you this far
‘Cause love sees farther than you ever could
In this moment heaven’s working
Everything for your good
Oh, so tell your heart to beat again

Step 1: Gather
I have been driven to my knees again on this one. All I know is to step into the light of grace again.
Words don’t mean anything today after the last 18 hours.
My story is far from over, my journey has just begun. There are no words today for this one.
Left speechless again. Even more than the last time I was left speechless from the battle. I wrote about this at what I thought was my lowest point. Little did I know…. Speechless, Our Father…
Moses, as a young adult, fled from his home to the unfamiliar countryside. He was driven by fear of the moment. Joseph, as a teenager. was stranded in a well by others. Then Joseph crossed the countryside in shackles to his next destination.
I have the opportunity to view these country roads as filled with fear OR an open door. I choose to see the open door. Fear is never from God. I might be almost speechless today, but I am not Godless. You so clearly have not abandoned me.
Step 2: Focused Reflection
Be speechless when I need to be. Lord you hear my heart. My pleas are no longer in the form of prayers, you know them. Instead I chose the Lord’s Prayer that soothes my soul and fills the air with your words, not mine.
Step 3: Journal
Nothing else to say.
Step 4: Revisit
Fear is not from God. Common sense is, using my brain is all from God. But FEAR is not from God
Step 5: Active Reach
Decision:
I will not be terrorized by fear. Not by my own thoughts or other’s actions. I will take refuge in you Lord. I will let you work for my good through this, moment by moment, I am doing that. I will continue to do that.
I will continue to see pain in others no matter how it comes out of them (without jeopardizing myself). There is a hurt child in all of us who later think we can stomp on others. Yet it needs to be completely removed from my physical presence. That is between you and them Lord, not me.
Action:
My action today is sort of like no action, but the opposite. It takes incredible action to actively stay calm, no matter what. My physical body, my physical heart cannot take on others chaos, it cannot. Emotionally, I remove myself from it. Physically, I remove myself from it.
I choose to take action of continually removing myself from all chaos. God, you are not a God of chaos. None of it is from you in any way shape or form.
What IS from you are the ones who come to my side no matter what, in YOUR name.

I will close my eyes and breath in your life-giving oxygen.
Every single action right now has to be as calming as possible to keep the physical as calm as possible. I will trust you for every breath and every heartbeat, Lord. I belong to you alone.
May ALL of you be blessed with the love and blood of Jesus Christ,
