Shelter Me so I May Blossom

Are there days you feel fragile, need to be sheltered? Days you need more than you can possibly give?? Days you don’t see your own light much less feel like you can grow and blossom??? Those are the days I find shelter in God’s word, the safest most truthful place I know.

There are days I could not possibly explain why life is the way it is. The only understanding I have is in God’s word. I enjoy resting in it when I run out of my own understanding.

Sometimes I have to break this down into bite size chunks that I can handle. I simply do not and will not understand some things, that simple.

There are some days that the only understanding I am required to have is learning commands from God. That is where I find comfort, in His promises, laws, commands, precepts, and decrees.

When I settle down and focus on what He has placed so simply in front of me, I feel the shelter, comfort and all the provisions I require for the day. And off I go, to try again at another day.

He provides all the nourishment I need, for today, right in front of me.

“73 Your hands made me and formed me;
    give me understanding to learn your commands.
74 May those who fear you rejoice when they see me,
    for I have put my hope in your word.
75 I know, Lord, that your laws are righteous,
    and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
76 May your unfailing love be my comfort,
    according to your promise to your servant.
77 Let your compassion come to me that I may live,
    for your law is my delight.
78 May the arrogant be put to shame for wronging me without cause;
    but I will meditate on your precepts.
79 May those who fear you turn to me,
    those who understand your statutes.
80 May I wholeheartedly follow your decrees,
    that I may not be put to shame.” ~ Psalm 119:73-80 NIV
