Day 19: Get Back On Track

Day 19: This is NOT a “crazy” blog, this is not a Christmas blog. This is a Holy Spirit meets quantum physics adventure…

Day 19: 16 May 2018

To get into my mind, I am going into the mind of Albert Einstein, but first I am going into the mind Mary, the mother of the Son of God.

What would it be like to be a smart teenager? What would it be like to be a wise teenager??

Introduction: Thanksgiving, Praise and Worship exercise – I looked up exact lyrics

SONG: Amy Grant – Breath Of Heaven

“I have traveled many moonless nights
Cold and weary with a babe inside
And I wonder what I’ve done
Holy father you have come
And chosen me now to carry your son

I am waiting in a silent prayer
I am frightened by the load I bear
In a world as cold as stone
Must I walk this path alone?
Be with me now

Breath of heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of heaven
Lighten my darkness
Pour over me your holiness
For you are holy
Breath of heaven

Do you wonder as you watch my face
If a wiser one should have had my place
But I offer all I am
For the mercy of your plan
Help me be strong
Help me be
Help me

Breath of heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of heaven
Lighten my darkness
Pour over me your holiness
For you are holy

Breath of heaven
Hold me together
Be forever near me
Breath of heaven
Lighten my darkness
Pour over me your holiness
For you are holy
Breath of heaven”

This is my all-time favorite Christmas song. But today, this song is nothing about Christmas. Instead it is about me trying to get into the mind-frame of Mary, the mother of Jesus.

I learned something I have never noticed before in the “Christmas story.” It has nothing to do with Christmas, yet everything to do with it. Lord, you are to be held responsible for this adventure in thinking.

Step 1: Gather

The things we learn and hear during our normal day, here on earth, can be quite revealing. This one was so powerful that I have taken a couple days to reflect on it. It is a pivotal thought process for me to get. Thank you, Lord, for revealing exactly what I needed at the moment I needed it. Basically, how to step back on the correct track/path, YOURS.

Mary was FIRST told/nudged/prompted that she would be carrying the Son of God by the angel Gabriel. Then, Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit. The telling/nudging/prompting came BEFORE the miracle.

The Birth of Jesus Foretold

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 The angel went to her and said, ‘Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.’

29 Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30 But the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. 31 You WILL conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33 and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.’

34 ‘How will this be,’ Mary asked the angel, ‘since I am a virgin?’

35 The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit WILL come on you, and the power of the Most High WILL overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37 For no word from God will ever fail.’

38 ‘I am the Lord’s servant,’ Mary answered. ‘May your word to me be fulfilled.’ Then the angel left her.”  ~ Luke 1:26-38

The angel told Mary the situation BEFORE the event actually took place. Before Jesus became a reality inside of Mary, she was sent an angle to tell of the workings of God. She had the opportunity to listen, or not. She had the opportunity to obey, or not.

We have the opportunity to listen to the Holy Spirit, or not. Is my particular heart and soul open to that kind of intent listening? Are my ears open for the gentle whispers? Am I seeking out the Holy Spirit to guide me or am I doing what is logical in my mind?

Sometimes I get it right, and many times I do not. As a parent we learn that speaking loudly is not usually the answer to guiding our children. It might get their attention, but it does not redirect their understanding of why they should do something differently so that it sticks for a lifetime.

God shows us this as a perfect Heavenly Father. He certainly has the ability to scream at us and even bring down his wrath if he so chooses. Yet usually, he speaks softly and lovingly to us through the Holy Spirit. Just as our children did not listen to their parents fully, we do not always listen to our Heavenly Father.

His paths are straight. How much straighter EVERYTHING would be if I would just listen for him, be still and only proceed when I have clearly heard him.

God spoke to Mary through an angle and she listened. That is one of the reasons he chose her, because she listened to God the Almighty. She listened and THEN the miracle happened inside of her.

Do I really think that God would have chosen her if she had not listened FIRST?? Of course not. So why would I expect a different outcome when I do not fully listen FIRST.

Here is a twist – Quantum Physics:

German Postage Stamp With Portrait Of Albert Einstein
GERMANY CIRCA 2005 – A German Postage Stamp featuring a portrait of Albert Einstein circa 2005.

Quantum physics works this way. Whew, this is a thought that boggles my mind. Quantum physics gives us a pathway into more insight how the Holy Spirit may work. No, I am not saying this is fact. I am not saying there is anywhere in the bible that says this one.

What I am saying: The very little I studied quantum physics, I kept thinking about the Holy Spirit and the correlations. NO, I am not saying there is a fourth god. NOTHING like that at all. I am saying that maybe quantum physics gives us some additional insight.

Holy Spirit is like our tour guide, before and after we make the choice to listen to him. This is a little hard to follow even in my own brain so bare with me.

First comes free-will. Then comes choice, choosing Jesus. Then comes the Holy Spirit. Then comes choosing to listen. Then comes obedience to follow through in action. THEN comes the blessings and miracles that come in abundance when we follow the correct order of things. Yes, miracles happen to nonbelievers, not saying they don’t.

I am saying we have the ability to set the stage for better outcomes. The Holy Spirit and science provide paths to help us get where we belong.

Through quantum physics, we know that, how we think and what we expect to happen next leads toward that outcome.

  • When we think life is yuck and muck and expect life to be yuck and muck, that is what we get. OR…
  • When we are up to our eyeballs in yuck and muck, we also can expect that we will be shown a way out and that leads to that positive path to get to predestined outcome.

This is way oversimplifying quantum physics but I am not an articulate brainiac who can explain it well.

EXAMPLE: I received a miracle beyond expectation or worthiness on 13 April 2018. Yet, my intense desire to live through horrendous health complications, contributed in a large part to the outcome of that day. I spoke about LIFE out-loud to several people the days proceeding the event. My physical body had already taken the direct path of death. Proven. As a clear and undebatable event, I went from 1% functioning on 10 April to nothing on 13 April.

Those four days were filled with spoken words of life, regardless of the path my physical body was taking. Those four days were filled with obedience. Nothing inside of me (except the facts) said that I would die. Those four days were filled with action. Every step I had to take (far beyond human explanation) was done in direct action based on what I knew from the Holy Spirit.

reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one - a
quote from Albert Einstein

Watching Denzel Washington helped me to further understand quantum physics, after the initial study through text books. Yup, this was a fun way to explore this thought about correlations between quantum physics and the Holy Spirit and the outcomes in life. Time travel challenges our thinking and ability to overcome.

Denzel Washington was the lead actor in a movie called, Deja vu.

The term déjà vu is French and means, literally, “already seen.” Those who have experienced the feeling describe it as an overwhelming sense of familiarity with something that shouldn’t be familiar at all. The movie portrayed two different time-lines with some scientific explanation. Very fun way to think this out.

Our thinking, our minds, our expectations, can take us on a different trajectory, a different path of life. Each decision based on our expectations leads us to a different path. Thinking outside-of-the-box allows me to see this in correlation with the Holy Spirit.

When we will stop, listen, expect that God has a perfect path for us. IF we will just take that path, then our outcomes will be on his exact path AND destination for our lives. This is where it gets tricky. I do not always do that, yet I know that God has preordained my destiny, so how do I end up at the same outcome that he has already predesigned for me?

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” ~ James 1:5 NIV

The Lord works out everything to its proper end – even the wicked for a day of disaster.” ~ Proverbs 16:4 NIV

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.” ~ Ephesians 5:15-17 NIV

“…your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” ~ Matthew 6:10 NIV

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” ~ Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future’.” ~ Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

He knows what completely stupid, silly, ridiculous, self-destructive, narrow-minded choices I will take, long before I make them. I can choose to take the hard way or I can choose to take the direct path. Mary’s heart and soul was for God. She was open to him. She was listening for him and when the angle came, she asked appropriate questions, then proceeded with obedience, based on full faith. And she was a stinking teenager and got this right!!!

I was at the opposite spectrum as a teenager and got very little right. Yet here I am today, provided with the opportunity to expect a different path for my life, grounded in Jesus Christ, and prepared to take a better journey to the destination already designed for me, by God himself.

Whew, I think that made my brain hurt. That is why this one has taken me two days to think out. The last couple nights when I woke up, my mind went to these thoughts, not the normal destructive self-talk. I was busy trying to understand. I was intent on hearing what God wanted to teach me through these thoughts.

once we accept our limits, we go beyond them - a quote from Albe
quote from Albert Einstein

This morning I woke up and within a few minutes of my normal lallygagging,  I reached out, grabbed the hand of the Holy Spirit and said out loud, “Let’s get up and moving, there are things to be done.” Basically, “show me the way, TODAY.” The trajectory has shifted. Same destination, just a better path.

“Occam’s razor (or Ockham’s razor) is a principle from philosophy. Of two competing theories, the simpler explanation of an entity is to be preferred.” Encyclopedia Britannica

Sometimes the path of least resistance is the best and wisest. Sometimes the most logical answer IS the best answer.  As humans we create some of our own difficulties in life. Allowing for an easier path, of less resistance, makes sense.

We never know what one single thought process will lead to that puts us on a different path that takes us on a more eternally productive road. Not sure that was said correctly, you get the drift. The destination is the same for believers, but what a delight it would be to be allowed the privilege to be used more, for eternal purposes here on earth.

When the spinning stops, when the chasing-the-tail stops, when the chicken-with-the-head-cut-off stops, we can get on with the eternal purposes so much more effectively.

This all sounds so random, maybe a bit scatterbrained. When I compare these ramblings with the exact steps in the 21-Day Brain Detox, it matches. These ramblings are taking me on the journey that God has designed, and that Dr. Caroline Leaf has explored through her cognitive neuroscience research. Plum fascinating. It blows my mind to watch this process work and know that it was specifically designed by God. Our brains were made to dig-deeper, learn-more, grow and stretch beyond what we think we are capable of. And also allow for the beauty of simplicity.

Step 2: Focused Reflection

What is my toxic thought in the above ramblings?

It is the specific word “ramblings.” It is like I am apologizing for speaking my mind by saying they are “ramblings.” These are not ramblings and why I would say such, is negative self-talk.

science without religion is lame, religion without science is bl
quote from Albert Einstein – personally would replace “religion” with “faith,” but I ain’t no Einstein!!!

These “ramblings” are very well thought out. I have been working on this specific thought process (Holy Spirit and insights using quantum physics) since May 2012. I remember the exact situation that led me to college level teachings on quantum physics. I clearly remember seeing that there could easily be insights into how the Holy Spirit may work for us in this context.

Step 3: Journal

So exactly why, WHY, would I call them “ramblings.” I am still apologizing for my existence because of how others have expressed their distaste for my existence, the desire for my annihilation. Well, how stupid is that, on MY part.

My Creator determines my worthiness, not man (including me). Stop thinking that I am not worthy of a well thought out thought…

“We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” ~ Aristotle or NFL

Step 4: Revisit

Holy Spirit, what next?

See the value I have, not only as a human being, but the value I have in Christ. Mary’s heart had to know that, through and through, before she could hear the next step – that saved the world.

I have had the intellectual understanding since I became a Christian 27 years ago. I have had the practice of seeing for myself that God’s promises are true, every time, no exceptions. I have seen with my own eyes the blessings and miracles in abundance. I know that God’s Word is the only truth I can count on. I know it, I get it. But now it is time to not only know that I know it, but let it reflect in my inner being to the depth that is intended for my life, today. Keep growing, keep seeking.

“Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.” ~ Albert Einstein

Step 5: Active Reach

Keep listening intently, and then obeying.

Action – I will see this perfect picture of how I see myself. Different, smart, on a path and trying my darnedest to follow the light of Jesus. He has given me the ability to walk on water, above the obstacles of life.

Action – I will continue to turn down the volume of this world, so I can hear the sweet whispers of the Holy Spirit. That will keep me on the more productive path to the same destination.

“You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.” ~ Hebrews 10:36 NIV

May ALL of you receive the minds and hearts to listen for the Holy Spirit,
