Day 6: Get Back On Track

Day 6, knock and the door will be opened to you…

Day 6: 30 April 2018

Introduction: Thanksgiving, Praise and Worship exercise

This is one to WATCH

SONG: “I Can Only Imagine” by Mercy Me – cover by One Voice Children’s Choir

“I can only imagine what my eyes will see…”

Okay Lord, I get that this song is typically put in a different context. You are SO outside the box, and I am SO in your image that this will be alright to go on this path.

Today you are taking me to doors, knocking on doors and the doors you are opening for me. Open doors lead me to “I can only image.” This is a transition time for me to go from closed doors to your open doors. It feels like it is something that I could only imagine. Glad you understand me because I am not sure I am making sense. I don’t even understanding yet where you are taking me on this today.

This particular video is with children singing about their dreams. That is kind of what I feel like now. I feel like a child who realizes that I even have dreams, dreams that you alone can deliver.

Our dreams are from you Lord. You place those desires on our hearts. When they are inherent dreams, they end up playing out to serve you. That makes me smile every time I think of it.

Step 1: Gather

Doors are opening on many levels, one after the other. It is happening faster that I deserve. There have been times, in the past, that doors have opened at such a rate that it felt almost like I floated through them with great ease.

I do feel surrounded by your glory. I am still shocked that I lived through the emergency. I can only imagine what you must have in store for me.

I also realize that doors are starting to open for me instead of slamming shut on me. This is a time of transition.

I actually can picture all kinds of doors and how they will open and what they may open to. You have already written the rest of my story but I do not yet know what it is. There is a curiosity of a child in me as to what is behind the open doors you have prepared.

Regardless of exactly what happens with all of this, my biggest desire is to “forever worship you.”

You have relieved the anger that stirred so badly in me that led me to do this 21-Day Brain Detox again. The anger might be subsided but this exercise is crucial to keep it where it belongs. Placing you first and foremost in my thoughts removes the junk.

Step 2: Focused Reflection

Knocking (asking) has been placed in my thoughts the last 24 hours. You provided several scriptures.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” ~ Matthew 7:7 NIV

As my healer, I have to believe I am worthy of your healing when I ask for it.

For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” ~ Matthew 7:8 NIV

As my provider, all I have to do is ask and seek and you will provide. The joy of wonderment over what will be behind your open doors. I smile at the thought.

“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” ~ Luke 11:9 NIV

As my source of knowlege, you repeat what you have already said so that it gets through my thick skull. I hear you saying, I will tell you repeatedly until you feel worthy of the open doors.

For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” ~ Luke 11:10 NIV

As my ultimate gift, you patiently wait for me to ask so you can lavish me with your gifts. You have already given me so much. I need to see that there is no end to what you are so willing to give to me.

like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him.” ~ Luke 12:36 NIV

As my master, I want to always be alert and ready to let you in.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” ~ Revelation 3:20 NIV

As my welcomed guest, I always want to hear your knock and let you in. I want it to be an open invitation, always. I want to prepare my heart and my table for you at all times.

Step 3: Journal

Fascinating, you provide insight FOR both sides of the door, and FROM both sides of the door. You come at this from so many possibilities.

Step 4: Revisit

Absolutely no more, “yah but….” You have it all covered. Me trying to make a plan is so totally the wrong thing for me to do right now. You have allowed so many obstacles so that the only way through the door is through you, by trusting you alone.

Step 5: Active Reach

Decision:

When abandonment rushes over me, there is no reason to get caught up in it.    The impossible has already been taken care of. I am not stuck in this, or anything, because you alone Lord already know the doors that you have already opened for me.

Today when I really had no business driving to a lymph appointment, you simply took care of it. I did not even ask, for this specifically. You opened the door. You handed the solution to me on a silver platter with a smile. She showed up to my house, having to take on sacrifice to do so. She brought your kindness into my home. Doors are being opened.

Action:

Any moment of feeling the sting of abandonment, think of a door. An open door with bright sunshine, cool fresh air, the smell of Spring and Autumn combined, and the exact path that you want me on. This is a good visual to fill my mind with instead of the yuck and muck. Keep my eyes on you, Lord.

May ALL of you see the open doors of opportunity in Christ,
